Ganges River Delta, Bangladesh

The Ganges River forms an extensive delta where it empties into the Bay of Bengal. The delta is largely covered with a swamp forest known as the Sunderbans, which is home to the Royal Bengal Tiger. Vegetation is various shades of green and the water color ranges from purple to dark blue.

No, they are not big buttons or "pixels" in the image. They are crop circles-of a sort! Irrigation systems that pivot around a central point create red circles of healthy crops. (Landsat image processing makes the green crops appear red in this image.)

Ghadamis River, Libya, Africa

These yellow and light green scars on a very dry landscape are part of the dry riverbed of the Ghadamis River in the Tinrhert Hamada Mountains near Ghadamis, Libya. The rocks in the mountains are brick red and deep orange in this image.
