MacDonnell Ranges, Australia

The MacDonnell Ranges are a band of mountains spanning Australia's dry interior. You can see only a portion of the ranges in this image. Sparse vegetation in this image appears green against the blues, purples and grays of the surrounding area.

Malaspina Glacier, Alaska, USA

The tongue of the Malaspina Glacier, the largest glacier in Alaska, fills most of this image. The Malaspina lies west of Yakutat Bay and covers 3,880 square kilometers (1,500 square miles). The terrain in this region appears a mustard yellow, while the majestic Malaspina Glacier appears blue-white, surrounded by reddish areas, which are the soil and stones the glacier has carried from along its path.
