I see ice on Mars!

Mars is the fourth planet from the Sun. We see ice on the surface near the poles. Our spacecraft studying Mars have also found evidence of ice below the surface. Many areas on Mars appear to have been shaped by flowing water. Some scientists think there was once lots of liquid water on Mars. Where did it go? Could there still be liquid water underneath the surface? Could there be microscopic life in the ice or water?

This image of Mars surface looks similar to areas on Earth where water has flowed and shaped the land.
