More than a web site, The Space Place is a NASA-sponsored nation-wide space and space science education initiative. The program engages young people to actively participate in cross-curriculum space science activities that provide hands-on experiential learning opportunities. Partnering with a number of national organizations dedicated to the education and well-being of children and youth, The Space Place program provides space science and technology related activities and materials to these organizations, which they then distribute through their considerable infrastructures. Boys & Girls Clubs of America has 3000 Clubs across the country, serving 3,000,000 children. |

YWCA has 326 chapters over all 50 states, serving about 750,000 girls and women. |

International Technology Education Association has 8,000 members. The Space Place contributes a space science or technology related classroom activity article each month to ITEA's educator journal, The Technology Teacher. These activities, as well as those on the web site, are developed in support of ITEA's recently published Standards for Technological Literacy. |

21st Century Community Learning Centers, a program established by Congress to award grants to rural and inner-city public schools to provide safe, drug-free, supervised and cost-effective after-school, weekend or summer havens for 600,000 children, youth and their families. |

Civil Air Patrol is a nonprofit, humanitarian corporation established in 1941 and chartered by Congress in 1946. The official auxiliary of the United States Air Force, CAP has a membership of 60,000. The Space Place is part of its internal aerospace education progam for cadets. |

4-H Aerospace Education Program. Four-H reaches more than 6 million young people throughout the country in local community-based clubs, school enrichment, and other settings. Young people learn through hands-on experiences in various subjects including aviation and space through the 4-H Aerospace Adventures curriculum, which includes The Space Place. |
