Crossing the globe, visualizations trace North America's East Coast and ocean currents through the North Atlantic. Night light from the human cities then shows human impact. Next, two models probe nearby space phenomena, fluid behavior in micro-gravity conditions, and an asteroid collison. A jaunt to Mars explores the mountains and trenches of it's dry, rocky surface. And concludes at a binary neutron star system, where 2 city-sized objects with the sun's mass merge in a huge explosion. |

| JASON is an oceanography mission focusing on monitoring global ocean circulation, discovering the tie between the oceans and atmosphere, improving climate predictions, and monitoring events such as El Niņo conditions and ocean eddies. The Jason-1 satellite carries a radar altimeter, and it is a follow-on mission to the highly successful TOPEX/Poseidon mission. It is a joint mission between France and the U.S.A. The satellite was launched December 2001. Video includes live footage of oceans and cloud formations, with graphics, animations, and interviews. |
